Lucia C. Maffei

Lucia C. Maffei, 87, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past 15 years, formerly of Staten Island, NY and Roundtop, NY passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 in Fort Myers, FL. She was born January 10, 1930 in Naples, Italy to Pietro and Rosa Leuci, now deceased.

Lucia worked for over 15 years in the healthcare industry, member of Local 1199SEIU as a nursing aid. She had a giving heart and enjoyed helping people. She was a parishioner at St. Katharine Drexel R.C. Church in Cape Coral, FL. Lucia enjoyed playing bocce ball in the Women’s Cape Coral Bocce Association. She was a strong and devoted matriarch who will be truly missed.

She is survived by three loving children, Piera Allan of Cape Coral, Alfonzo Maffei of Sarasota, FL, and Joseph Maffei (Jennifer) of Staten Island, NY; three siblings, Anna Arpino of Naples, Italy, Amelia Totaro of Trani, Italy, and Carmine Leuci (Filomina) of Paese, Italy; seven grandchildren, Saleh, Chris, Ariana, Antonia, Angeline, Luciana and Joseph, Jr.; as well as many extended family members.

Lucia was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Minuccio Maffei in 2015.

A viewing will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 2819 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306, on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Charles Church, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 9:15am. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
