Marian Wick

February 26, 1938 - January 21, 2017

Marian W. Wick, C.A.D.C. III, C.C.S.II, R.D.H. age 78, of 10100 Cypress Cove Drive, in Ft Myers, FL died on January 21, 2017 at the Lodge, the rehab center at Cypress Cove, a senior living community.

Marian was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on February 26, 1938, a daughter of the late Payson and the late Marian (Lewis) Wild, Jr.

She was married to Willis W. Wick on December 20, 1959, at Howes Memorial Chapel, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. She was a member of the First Congregational Church – United Church of Christ.

She graduated from Northwestern University Dental School with a degree in Dental Hygiene in June, 1959, and from the Kettle Moraine Counselor Internship Program in September, 1991. From 1974 – 1990, she was a teacher’s assistant for emotionally disturbed students in Sheboygan Public Schools. She was a Program Manager at the Marshall E. Sherrer Minimum Correctional Center in Milwaukee for 8 years. Her last employment was that of an A.O.D.A. counselor at The Center at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, retiring in May, 2005. Her community activities have included the Sheboygan Service Club, the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, the First Congregational Church, the Town and Country Garden Club, the Girl Scouts, and the Sheboygan School System volunteers.

She is survived by her husband, Woody; a daughter, Julie (Peter) Sonneborn of Glenview, IL, two sons, Tom (Susan) Wick of Flossmoor, IL, and David A. (Mieka) Wick of Washington, DC; a sister, Caroline Norris of Marion, VA; and a brother, Payson S. (Linda) Wild of Evanston, IL. She is further survived by three granddaughters, Allison and Emily Sonneborn, Annabelle Wick; three grandsons, Payson, Ted, and Samuel Wick; as well as other nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and maternal and paternal grandparents.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in The Edison Hall at Cypress Cove, 10200 Cypress Cove Drive, Ft. Myers, FL 33908. Another memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in the spring. Further details on the Sheboygan service will be forthcoming.
