William T. Ostdick

February 27, 1932 - June 22, 2014

William T. Ostdick, 82, a Cape Coral, FL resident since 2001, formerly of Crystal Lake, IL, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 in Cape Coral. He was born February 27, 1932 in Elgin, IL to William and Agnes Ostdick, now deceased.

Bill retired from the telephone industry after 36 years. In addition to that, he was an electrician and a very “handy” guy who could build anything. He was a long time member of the American Legion and the Moose. He loved lighthouses, doing crosswords and jigsaw puzzles. He was quiet but loved reminiscing with his family and friends about the Coast Guard and life in simpler times.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Susan E. Wills-Ostdick of Cape Coral, FL; his five children, Lisa Michaels (Bill) of UT, Julie Trembath (Dan) of CA, Lorin Skerbitz (Gerry) of MN, Wayne Ostdick of WI, and Corey Ostdick (Eva) of IL, as well as seven grandchildren, one great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his five siblings.

Memorial Services will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Mullins Memorial, 1056 N.E. 7th Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33909 with Greg Sund officiating.
