Alvin G. Coiner

April 30, 1944 — July 16, 2024

Alvin G. Coiner, 80, died Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida, surrounded by family following his heroic battle with pancreatic cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Nardi and his daughter, Kimberly Coiner-Moyle, as well as countless friends and former colleagues. 

Al was born in Atalissa, Iowa, and is the son of Harold and Norma (Schwartz) Coiner. He moved to Connecticut in 1972 to raise a family, remaining until 2008 when he retired to Saint James City, Florida.

Al was known for his intellectual curiosity, kindness to animals, covert acts of charity, and chef-level cooking skills. He earned his Masters degree at The University of Hartford where he also taught as an adjunct professor. The majority of Al’s career was spent as an Information Technology Governance and Compliance executive with Aetna Inc. 

A celebration of life is planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, Florida where Al was treated with such kindness and respect.
