Amelia Aceves, de 85 años, residente de Fort Myers, FL por más de 50 años, anteriormente de México, falleció el viernes 27 de septiembre de 2024 en Fort Myers. Nació el 16 de julio de 1939 en Tototlán, Jalisco, México, hija de José Jesús Sánchez y María Mendoza, ahora fallecidos.
Amelia era miembro de la Iglesia Católica Nuestro Jesús Obrero en Fort Myers. Algunos la conocían como “La Señora de los Tamales”, otros como “Doña Amelia”, sin importar cómo la conocieran, será recordada como una mujer servicial con un corazón bondadoso, alguien que siempre estaba dispuesta a dar una mano a quien lo necesitara. Su puerta siempre estaba abierta para todos los que necesitaban un techo sobre su cabeza, era una mujer muy noble que siempre estaba trabajando, cocinando y cuidando a su familia, lo cual era su mayor satisfacción.
Le sobreviven nueve hijos, Maricela Aceves, Irene Aceves, ambas de Fort Myers, José Abel Aceves (Santos) de México, José Ángel Aceves, Noe Aceves (Irma), Alma Rocío Aceves, Olga Martínez (Efraín), Erbando Aceves (Eduarda) y Guadalupe Aceves, todos de Fort Myers; tres hermanas, Eustolia Sánchez, Mercedez Sánchez y Estela Sánchez, todas de México; así como 37 nietos; 57 bisnietos; así como un tataranieto.
A Amelia le precedieron en la muerte su amado esposo de 65 años, Isabel Aceves en 2019; así como cuatro hermanos, Domingo Sánchez, Otilia Sánchez, Victoria Sánchez y Luis Sánchez.
La familia recibirá a amigos para un velorio de 7:00 p. m. a 9:00 p. m. el jueves 3 de octubre de 2024 en Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33916.
Se llevará a cabo una misa de entierro cristiano a las 10:00 a. m. el viernes 4 de octubre de 2024 en la Iglesia Católica Jesus Obrero , 881 Nuna Avenue, Fort Myers, FL 33905, oficiada por el padre José Del Olmo. Los servicios de entierro se llevarán a cabo en el cementerio de la ciudad de Fort Myers, 3200 Michigan Avenue, Fort Myers, FL 33916. Amelia Aceves, 85, a resident of Fort Myers, FL for over 50 years, formerly of Mexico, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024 in Fort Myers. She was born July 16, 1939 in Tototlan, Jalisco, Mexico to Jose Jesus Sanchez and Maria Mendoza, now deceased.
Amelia was a member of Our Jesus the Worker Catholic Church in Fort Myers. She was known to some as “La Señora de los Tamales” to others as “Doña Amelia” no matter what she was known by she will be remembered as a helping woman with a caring heart, someone that was always willing to give a helping hand to whoever was in need. Her door was always open to everyone that needed a roof over their head, she was a very noble women that was always working, cooking and taking care of her family which was her greatest fulfillment.
She is survived by nine children, Maricela Aceves, Irene Aceves both of Fort Myers, Jose Abel Aceves (Santos) of Mexico, Jose Angel Aceves, Noe Aceves (Irma), Alma Rocio Aceves, Olga Martinez (Efrain), Erbando Aceves (Eduarda), and Guadalupe Aceves all of Fort Myers; three sisters, Eustolia Sanchez, Mercedez Sanchez, and Estela Sanchez, all of Mexico; as well as 37 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; as well as one great great grandchild.
Amelia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Isabel Aceves in 2019; as well as four siblings, Domingo Sanchez, Otilia Sanchez, Victoria Sanchez and Luis Sanchez.
The family will receive friends for a Time of Visitation from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2024 Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33916.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Our Jesus The Worker Catholic Church, 881 Nuna Avenue, Fort Myers, FL 33905 with Father Jose Del Olmo officiating. Committal Services will follow at Fort Myers City Cemetery, 3200 Michigan Avenue, Fort Myers, FL 33916. Immediately following the Committal Services, a Gathering will be held in the Celebration Center of Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33916.
