Ann L. Combs

Ann Louise Combs, 86, of Fort Myers, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018. She was born March 20, 1932 in Beverly, MA to Francis and Beatrice Malloy. Ann graduated from the New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and worked there for much of her career. She was a well-respected nurse, administrator, and colleague. After raising her family in Lexington, MA, she and Bill lived in Boston for many years, retiring early to spend time at their homes in New Hampshire and Florida and travelling the world. She was a smart, funny, classy, beautiful woman with many interests; she enjoyed cooking, entertaining, knitting, needlework, gardening, antiquing, and travelling. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William H. Combs; children, William H. Combs, III, Jennifer Combs of New Hampton, NH, and Patricia Darnell of Oakland, CA; sisters Sharon Caldwell (Thomas) of Lexington, MA and Kathleen Briggs (Richard) of California; grandchildren Matthew, Christopher, and Nicholas Darnell; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. We miss her dearly. No formal services are planned at this time.
