Ann G. Friga

Ann G. Friga, 75, a Lee County, FL resident since 1968, formerly of Rochester, NY passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 in Cape Coral. She was born August 6, 1940 in Rochester, NY to Hibbert and Theresa Girvin, now deceased. Ann was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Cape Coral where she was a member of The Augustinians and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was co-owner of Friga Masonry and Carpentry until her semi-retirement when she started working at Viscaya-Prado Veterinary Hospital 8 years ago. She was known and loved in the community by many who called her mom or grandma. Her favorite hobbies were doting on her grandchildren and watching the Hallmark Channel. She enjoyed her family, her friends and her life. She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Stephen Friga of Cape Coral; six loving children, Katherine Jenkins of Ft. Lauderdale, Michael Friga of Pompano Beach, Mark Friga (Traci) of Cape Coral, Beverly DiRenzo of Cape Coral, Michelle Bennett (Chuck) of Cape Coral, and Scott Friga (Colleen) of North Ft. Myers; five loving siblings, Arthur Girvin (Barbara), Richard Girvin (Kathy), Patricia DiPassio (Joseph) all of Rochester, NY, John Girvin (Barbara) of Hollie, NY, and Mary Polimeni (John) of Rochester, NY; 29 grandchildren; one great grandchild; five dogs, Peanut, Trigger, Joe Willy, Shadow, and Dolly; as well as Missy the cat. Ann was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Papp. A Time of Remembrance will be held 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Mullins Memorial, 1056 NE 7th Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33909. Family friend, Rita Dooley will be sharing a prayer, scripture reading and Irish Blessing at 7:00 PM. A Memorial mass will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 12, 2015 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 1922 SW 20th Ave., Cape Coral, FL 33991 with Father John Deery officiating. A reception will be held in the Parish Hall after the mass. Memorial Contributions in memory of Ann G. Friga are suggested to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908.
