Our beloved Anne has gone to be with the Lord. She left the confusion of mind and body on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Anne is no longer looking for Mommy but is with her and many others that have gone before her.
Anne Carol D’Angelo Papp was born on February 28, 1943 in Ossining, New York, to Angelina and John “Red” D’Angelo. She was the oldest of six children. For years, Anne was the second mother to her younger brothers. She always said that she raised John, Tony, Bill, and Bob (what a job that must have been) and did not need any other children. Anne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Steven “Buddy” Papp;
her sister and best friend, Janie; her younger brother, Bob; and her much loved, Cody.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, John, Tony and Dianne, and Bill and Amy. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. One of Anne’s favorite titles was Aunt Anne. She will be missed terribly by her nieces and nephews. She was always a favorite aunt because of her love, encouragement, and generosity.
Anne moved to the Fort Myers, Florida, area in 2001 with her husband, brother, and mother after retiring from BOCES in New York. She became a born-again Christian later in life and became active in the little church at Windmill Village until she was unable to help anymore. She continued to go to church and hear God’s Word for a few more years. She was loved by many and will be missed by many. Her remaining siblings, John, Tony, and Bill would love to hear your favorite memories of Anne. Please share those with us.
Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.
