Anthony (Tony) Gerard Frizziola, Jr., 68, a Lee County resident since 2002, formerly of Spotswood, New Jersey, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015 in Cape Coral. He was born February 27, 1947 in New York, New York to Anthony Gerard Frizziola and Rosalie Marie Frizziola. He was raised in Staten Island, NY and later moved to New Jersey.
Tony graduated from the New York City Police Academy and became a New York City Police Officer. He later worked for the New York Metropolitan Transit Authority. Upon his retirement from the city of New York, he worked a variety of jobs in sales, insurance, security, and private investigation. He was a hard-working and industrious man who often worked a full-time job while also working part-time in areas such as landscaping and skilled labor trades. Tony was certified and served in a volunteer capacity with the New Jersey Fire Police Department. Upon moving to Florida, he worked for the City of Cape Coral, Lee Memorial Health Systems, and for LARC, an organization which specializes in serving people with disabilities. He served as a trades instructor and in the transportation department, and enjoyed giving back to those with developmental challenges, exemplifying his heart of compassion and care for others.
Tony had many passions in life and lived in such a way as to enjoy life and the people whom he loved. He was knowledgeable about sports, cars, guns, and woodworking. He loved his family. He was a handy man. He could fix anything that went wrong. Tony loved boating, fishing, and motorcycling, and had the opportunity to experience all the things he loved. He also LOVED dessert and sweets. Tony enjoyed dancing and singing. He sang in the choir at King's Way Christian Center and loved music.
Tony also spent a lot of his time volunteering, not only for the New Jersey State Fire Police, but also for his church and ECHO. He was a good judge of character. People respected his opinion. He spoke boldly into the lives of those whom he loved out of concern for their life and well-being. Tony was a true hero and admired by all for his courage, determination, and faith. He was compassionate, family oriented, adventurous, and a fighter. Tony was a true Godly man, a man of his word, and always made people happy. He loved to be challenged and faced it head on. He went after his goals and dreams and was able to accomplish them. His smile would light up a room. Tony will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his devotion to his family. He was a great husband and father.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Sonia Frizziola of North Ft. Myers; loving father, Anthony G. Frizziola SR of Staten Island, NY; Six children, Michael Frizziola and wife Danielle of Jackson, NJ, Steven Frizziola and wife Sherri of Jackson, NJ, Anthony G. Frizziola, III and wife Theresa of Manalapan, NJ, Joseph Frizziola of Toms River, NJ, Dominick Frizziola and wife Donielle of Ft. Myers, FL, and Melissa Frizziola of Ft. Myers, FL; Sister, Johanna Wittick and husband Ray of Staten Island, NY; brother, Alfred Frizziola and wife Linda of Forked River, NJ; Nine grandchildren, Jordyn, Gregory, Matthew, Daniel, Joey, Kevin, Andrew, Zechariah, and Isabella; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tony is also survived by his blended family, Linda Reina and husband Rey, Willie Vargas and wife Amanda, and Vivian Gomez and husband John(JP), their children; Elisha, Sely, Emily, Danny, J.J., Miranda, Genesis "GiGi", Eli, Manny, Leila, Valentina, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalie Frizziola and a granddaughter, Amelia Frizziola.
Tony was a member of King's Way Christian Center in Cape Coral. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 19, 2015 at King's Way Christian Center, 2016 Kismet Pkwy E., Cape Coral, FL 33909 with Pastor Dan Lumadue officiating.
