Antoinette Johnson

August 31, 1943 — August 14, 2025

Cape Coral, Florida

Antoinette Johnson, 81, a Cape Coral, Florida resident for the last six years, formerly of Lehigh Acres, FL and Long Island, NY, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025, in Cape Coral. She was born August 31, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY daughter of Carmela and Vito Contessa.

Antoinette was of the Roman Catholic faith. And she was Italian through and through. She loved her family. She had fun hosting many parties, birthdays, and dinners. Every holiday was always fun and joyous at her house. She poured her heart into every detail — from the decorations to the food — making everyone feel welcome and cherished. Her laughter filled the room, and her warmth made her home a place where memories were made and love was always in abundance.

She was great at decorating and she was an awesome cook. Very creative. She knew how to blend a color into a room when you never thought that color would go well. She LOVED rearranging her furniture. She did this OFTEN. She had a very funny side to her which kept us all laughing. She was generous and loving. Whether she had the money or not she housed friends if they needed a place to stay. And you also knew where you stood with her, always. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her three beloved children, Steven Donnis, Michelle Hendry and Vito Johnson. one niece, Toni Self and one nephew, David Contessa and two grandchildren, Landon and Reese; as well as many cousins.

In addition to her parents, Antoinette was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Johnson and her brother, William Contessa.

A private family gathering is planned.

Monetary memorial contributions in her memory are suggested to the family in care of Mullins Memorial, 1056 NE 7th Terrace Cape Coral, FL 33909.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.
