Barbara Clara Eubanks-Laho

March 1, 1932 — April 6, 2023

Barbara Clara Eubanks-Laho, 91, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2020, formerly of Southfield, MI, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 in Cape Coral. She was born March 1, 1932 in Detroit, MI to Samuel and Velma Joslin.

Barbara was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Katherine Drexel in Cape Coral. Barbara worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Company while raising her family. After retiring, she returned to Wayne State University as a student where she completed her Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree. Barbara then started a new career with Meijer, Inc, from which she later retired. 

In her free time, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also loved animals, especially her dogs. 

She is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly Slavik (Ken) of Cape Coral; son-in-law, Tom Simon of South Haven, MI; grandchildren, Rebekah Kerkmaz (Eric), David Myas (Kelli), Stephanie Myas-Donohue (Collin), Jeffrey Slavik (Jen), and Jonathan Slavik (Katie); as well as great grandchildren, Arianna Kerkmaz, Elijah Kerkmaz, Isaac Kerkmaz, Joslyn Donohue, Gabriel Donohue, Owen Myas, and Zoey Slavik.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Eubanks since 1986; as well as her children, Bruce Eubanks, Jr, Amy Eubanks-Simon, and Charles Eubanks. She was also preceded in death by her close friend and companion, Jack Klein.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 26, 2023 at St Mary Catholic Church, 730 S Lafayette Ave #2596, Royal Oak, MI 48067. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 9:30 AM until time of service.
