Bennie Lee Garcia, 82, a resident of Labelle, FL since the early 1960’s, formerly of MS, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024 in LaBelle. He was born October 25, 1941 in Warren County, MS to Fred and Carolyn Garcia, now deceased.
Bennie was of the Catholic faith and attended Our Lady Queen of Heaven in LaBelle.
As a young child, Bennie quit school to work alongside his siblings in the fields (agriculture). He didn’t know how to read and write but you couldn't cheat Bennie Lee out of his money. He had a tight knit relationship with his nine siblings. His passions consisted of being a farmer, a musician (all instruments) but his favorite being the accordion. He was the owner/founder of Bennies Lawn Service Company, and he was the notorious “Corn Man”. He had many hobbies, fishing, watching wrestling matches and his daily dose of Western Movies. To everyone he was “Bennie” but to himself he was John Wayne. He was the best storyteller, the best jokester, and the best Grandpa (PAPA). He will always be remembered for being the most stubborn but the most handsome man in everyone’s eyes.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Annie “Anita” (Davis) Garcia of Fort Myers; thirteen children, Amber Garcia (3 grandchildren), Eric Garcia (2 grandchildren), Maurice Garcia (✝), Tina Garcia (2 grandchildren), Ernestine Garcia Serrano (4 grandchildren), Cynthia Garcia Medina (1 grandchild), Celia Lee Garcia Henderson (2 grandchildren), Phillip Garcia Hefling (2 grandchildren), Margaret Ann Garcia Cantu (2 grandchildren), Benny Garcia Jr (4 grandchildren), Michael Garcia (4 grandchildren), Sylvia Garcia Faircloth (2 grandchildren), Sandra Garcia (3 grandchildren). Numerous great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; as well as many children that he helped to raise over the years.
No formal services are planned at this time.
Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Fort Myers, is entrusted with final care.
