Bernard George Thompson, 94, a Cape Coral, Florida resident since 1991, formerly of Beverly, MA, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025. He was born November 19, 1930, in Boston, MA to Josephine and George Thompson, now deceased.
Bernard was a proud U.S. Army veteran and a devoted member of St. Katharine Drexel Roman Catholic Church in Cape Coral. He began his career by owning and operating his own TV and radio repair shop, later moving on to work at WCRB in Waltham, MA. For more than 30 years, Bernie dedicated his skills to the x-ray and digital x-ray repair industry, serving communities in both Boston and Florida with professionalism and integrity. He concluded his career with Phillips Medical and later at Lee Memorial Health Park in Fort Myers.
In retirement, Bernie embraced the things he loved most…listening to music, collecting Cadillacs, and spending time with his wife, Annette, and their family. He will be remembered not only as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, but also as a kind and generous soul who was always ready to lend a helping hand. Guided by his faith, he held a special devotion to St. Anthony.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Annette Thompson of Cape Coral; three children, Karen Thompson of Cape Coral, Carlton Thompson and wife Christine of Beverly, MA and Brian Thompson of Cape Coral; as well as three grandchildren, Victoria, Olivia and Jonathan.
In addition to his parents, Bernard was preceded in death by five siblings.
