Bret Matthew Quinlan

Bret Matthew Quinlan, age 33, of Alva, Florida completed his journey of life to begin a beautifully healed residency in Heaven with our Lord on July 5^th, 2023.

Bret passed peacefully at home where he had added so much joy with his many talents for technology and his predisposition of a unique sense of humor, thoughtful generosity, patience and kindness.  He was also very humble and grateful to those who cared for him after his life’s ambition of becoming a Doctor of Psychiatry was put aside as a result of a tragic accident twelve years ago, which left him quadriplegic.

His tremendous gift of courage has been an inspiration to everyone who knew him as he traveled to see the Total Solar Eclipse; saw many, movies and concerts and always continued to face down surgeries and the subsequent bedrests bravely.

Bret enjoyed attending Church, where he happily received the love of his Church family and returned it sweetly. 

Bret Quinlan is survived by his loving parents, Scott and Rita Quinlan; his best friend and Sister, Kinsey Quinlan of Fort Myers and his sweet niece, Harper Shea Arocho-Quinlan.  He also will be missed greatly by his uncle, Stanley Brown of Fort Myers; aunt, Kathy Brown of Huntsville, Alabama; as well as many cousins.  Bret has been joyfully welcomed into the presence of Jesus by his grandparents, Ed and Evelyn Quinlan; W.C. and Sybil Brown and uncles, Butch Brown, Wayne Quinlan, Brad Quinlan and aunt, Debbie Quinlan McElroy.

Bret continued to grow in stature with regards to the gifts some may only strive toward, during the twelve years he spent with his family and will always remain an inspiration.  He is held close in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at CityGate Ministries, 1735 Jackson Street, Fort Myers, FL 33901.
