Carlos M. Collado

Carlos Miguel Collado, 57, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2004, formerly of Miramar, FL passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 in Cape Coral. He was born November 4, 1958 in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba.

Carlos was, also known as “Cubano”, “Abuelo”, “Gordo”, “Negrito”, among others. He left Cuba and moved to Spain when he was 5 years old. After living in Spain for a few years, he moved to Miami, Florida. Carlos graduated from Miami High School in 1976 and served in the United States Army before attending the University of Miami to further his education. Years later Carlos moved to Southern California, where he met the love of his life Nydia. He married her on July 5, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nevada at The Little Chapel of the West where they wed for 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed boating, listening to music, bowling, football, baseball, playing dominoes, home improvement projects and a good “Cuban” cigar. Carlos was the true definition of a hard worker, a family man, generous nature and humility. He loved to crack jokes and be the center of attention. Carlos will always be remembered for his unique sense of humor, his easy going personality, his love for music, family, (specially his wife, whom he would do anything for).

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nydia Collado of Cape Coral; loving mother, America Collado oF Miami, FL; daughter, Dianira Usallan (Eric) of Miami Lakes, FL; brothers, Justin A. Garcia of Riviera Beach, FL and Alexander Garcia, Jr. (Stacey) of Palmetto, FL; as well as two grandchildren, Anthony and Alyssa Usallan.

Carlos was preceded in death by his father, Miguel Collado and a brother, Carlos A. Garcia.
