Carlos A. Zapata

Carlos A. Zapata, 41, a resident of Lehigh Acres, FL for the past two years, formerly of Jersey City, NJ, passed away August 8, 2023 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born January 4, 1982 in New York, NY.

He attended St. Aloysius High school and graduated in 2000. He loved working in the medical field where he worked as a BioMed Technician in Southwest Florida. He enjoyed traveling, cigar smoking, and watching his favorite teams, the New York Yankees, and the New Orleans Saints. In 2016 he married his wife in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. His daughter was born in 2019. Carlos will always be remembered as the “Cool Guy'' where he was known for his calm attitude and easy-going demeanor, but most importantly he will be honored as a great father who adored his daughter and a man that would do anything for his family.  

He is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Zapata of Lehigh Acres; father, Alfredo Zapata of New York, NY; daughter, Gianna Zapata; siblings, Alfredo "Fred" Zapata of Lake Park, GA and Marta "Nikki" Zapata of Lake Park, GA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33916. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service. Committal services are to follow at Fort Myers City Cemetery, 3200 Michigan Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33916.
