Catherine Elizabeth Lopez

Catherine Elizabeth Lopez, 75, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past seven years, formerly of Sunnyside, NY, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024 in Fort Myers. She was born April 13, 1949 in New York.

Cathy was an exceptional, wife, cat mom, sister, aunt, and friend to so many.  Her cats were very special to her and when they moved to Florida she was worried about them adjusting but that all worked out.  She loved life, her smile and laugh were contagious, and she always told you what was on her mind, and no one was going to take advantage of her.  Once a friend of Cathy’s you were always a friend for life.

She was a long term employee of FAO Schwarz and later retired from Dylan’s Candybar.  She was so happy to be in Florida where she and Ray moved in 2018, so proud to be an official home owner.  Her time spent in Florida included making new friends and exploring new places and things to do. 

She is survived by her beloved husband, Ramiro Lopez of Cape Coral; sister, Fran Cummo of NY; as well as a niece and nephew, Sean Cummo and Vanessa Cummo.
