Charles Hoxie

Charles "Charlie" H. Hoxie, 83, a Lee County, Florida resident since 1993, formerly of Somerville, Massachusetts, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 in Ft. Myers. He was born January 14, 1932 in Oakfield, ME to Clarence and Marion Hoxie, now deceased. Charlie was of the Baptist Faith. He served in the Military in Korea. Charlie was an active member of the Masons. While in Massachusetts, he worked on the Railroad as a Break Man. He retired from the MA Housing Authority before moving to Florida.Charlie was dearly loved by everyone at Del Tura Country Club in North Fort Myers. He is survived by his beloved fiancé, Mercedes "Cedie" Patt of NY and North Ft. Myers; brother, Donald L. Hoxie of Somerville, MA and sister, Leona M. Pelaquin of Corpus Christi, TX; step daughter, Correne Gladding (John) of Tampa; as well as three step grandchildren, Amanda, Alison, and John also of Tampa. Charlie was preceded in death by both of his spouses, Gladys R. Hook Hoxie in 1990 and Phyllis M. Barter Hoxie in 2002; sisters, Dorothy Mulligan and Donna Spingel; brother, Donald Hoxie. A Time of Remembrance will be held 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Monday, November 23, 2015 at Mullins Memorial, 1056 NE 7^th Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33909 with Reverend Helen Clover officiating. Funeral Services with Military Honors will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 23, 2015 at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241. Another Celebration of Charlie's life will take place at the Del Tura Pubon Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 6:00 PM. Memorial Contributions in memory of Charles H.
