Charles Robert Leister

Charles Robert Leister, 74, a resident of Cape Coral since 2015, formerly of Comstock Park, MI, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born January 12, 1949 in Sturgis, MI to Robert and June Leister, now deceased.

Charles spent his time on the baseball fields, hockey and soccer games with his sons during their younger and teenage years. He also enjoyed boating and fishing with his wife and family. He loved to relax on the deck of his summer home and enjoy the weather and watch the boats pass on the lake. He loved his dogs, and his dogs loved him. He was content raking the fall leaves by the fire with a dog by his side.

He is survived by his loving wife since 1985, Karen Leister of Cape Coral; children, Christopher Leister of Comstock, MI, and Jacob Leister also of Comstock; stepson, Douglas Empie (Jennifer) of Walker, MI; sisters, Trudy Evans (Mike) of Grand Rapids, MI, and Sharon Gavin (John) of Interlocken, MI; as well as step grandchildren, Jordan Empie and Crew Empie.
