Charles Matthew Perna, Jr., 28, a Ft. Myers resident for the past year, formerly of Hammonton, New Jersey, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 in Ft. Myers. He was born December 24, 1986 in Voorhees, New Jersey.
Charles loved the sport of motorcross racing and he raced for many years for P & L Cycle Repairs of Hammonton, NJ. Charles won numerous State and District Championships throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Even though he retired from racing at a young age, he still had a passion for the sport and continued to watch the races whenever possible. He was loved by many and will always be remembered and missed.
He is survived by his loving father, Charles M. Perna, Sr. of Ft. Myers and beloved son of the late Mary Perna; two loving children, Michael and Madison; fiancé, Michelle Johnston of Ft. Myers; sister, Donna Bishop (Michael) of Ft. Myers, and brothers, Daniel Wunschel (Tiffany) of Waterford, NJ, and Robert Perna (Jaime) of Hammonton, NJ; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
