Christina Teresa Miclette, 53, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past 40 years, formerly of New Haven, CT, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 in Cape Coral. She was born February 25, 1970 in New Haven, CT.
Christina was a Catholic and attended St. Andrew Catholic Church in Cape Coral. She was so kind, loving, and free-spirited. Towards the beginning of her lilfe, she spent some time in Belgium with her parents where she learned to speak French. She proudly wore the title of "Military Brat" and enjoyed trips wo the shooting range with her father, family and friends.
She made many fond memories in her time living in Connecticut where she lived closely with several aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she all loved dearly. She considered many cousins and a few close friends to be like sisters and loved them all dearly, regardless of time or distance. She loved to retell stories of the woods when she spoke of Connecticut. Much more adventurous than her daughter, when revisiting in her late 40s she gleefully walked the trails and climbed spider-infested boulders with no fear, only joy.
She was extremely fond of nature. In her Cape Coral home, she would dedicate hours to her garden. She had a variety of animals around her through her life, including a duck that would preen and pluck the grass beside her as she weeded the garden. Most recently her dog Bella would stay by her side with a big goofy grin as she watched her take care of the many plants.
Christina was very proud of the time she spent working in sales. She often bragged about her ability to turn a bitter customer into a happy one. She also worked for the Sheraton Hotel for a while which she enjoyed. She spent some time working with Road Runner as well which then turned into Comcast. A devoted parent, she then stayed at home to take care of her daughter and then later her parents. She loved her son-in-law Dylan like he was her own and constantly reminded him of how proud she was of him. Dylan and her enjoyed many jokes as she was a bit gullible and things would often charmingly go over her head.
Christina carried that special kind of love in her heart, always ready to listen when you needed to talk. Her arms were always open for that hug you needed. She embraced motherhood and loved and accepted all of her child's friends as her own when they were at our house. She joined many card and board games when asked to play even though they frustrated her.
She told retold stories of all of her friends passionately. Her favorite story being the time her and her best friend Laura accidentally jumped a gap on a broken bridge and had to pass back over. There are many fond things to remember about Christina but her driving skills are not at the top of that list (sorry Mom). She also enjoyed hearing about everyone's lives on Facebook, being excited for their life events, and cheering them on from the side.
She loved her parents deeply and lived with them as a caretaker for about ten years. She adored her father and her Mother whom she spent endless hours waiting for her father to come home from assignments, as they traveled the world together. She loved traveling and seeing new things and places.
She loved her daughter more than anything and constantly went above and beyond for her. When Krystal was in school, she always did her best to make sure she was comfortable where she was and fought to switch her elementary school and high school when they were not the best. There were many times Krystal called upset from school and Christina would instantly get her. Once in early elementary school, She showed up at the school in a full fancy work uniform and said she had to get Krystal because she had a meeting at work. Underneath the skirt set, she was wearing a bathing suit and completely surprised her by taking her straight to sunsplash. They were very close and talked daily. No one memory would do her justice as a mother, she was
amazing and I will miss her every day. I’m grateful that we talked as much as we did and I know how lucky I was to have had the experiences I did with her.
She is survived by her loving father, Jerry Rowe of Cape Coral; daughter, Krystal Sebring (Dylan); as well as a
granddaughter, Willow, on the way.
Christina was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Dudeck.
