Chuenhwei Nelson Ho (何春暉), 71, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2016, formerly of Pennsylvania and Taiwan, passed away on April 1, 2021 in Cape Coral. He was born October 28, 1949 in Taiwan to Shichen Ho (何世臣) and Zhou Changqiong Ho (周昌琼), now deceased.

Chuenhwei emigrated to America to pursue higher education at 25. Through hard work and persistence, he acquired two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. He worked at various companies, rising to VP of Environmental Compliance and Safety. Thirty years ago, he also started NEJC Corp., his own environmental consulting company. He traveled at least 200 days a year helping his clients and efficiently solving their problems. Besides being successful in his profession, he was a great friend, brother, son, husband, and father, and crucial in his children’s success. He unconditionally sacrificed and provided the best of everything for his family. On the side, he loved watching and playing sports, especially golf and tennis.

Chuenhwei always supported and believed in his children in all of their endeavors. He could have retired but chose to work and continue to help his clients. Not long ago, he said that he had accomplished everything he wanted and could not ask for more from this life. He returned from his last work trip on March 13th. After falling ill, he canceled his next trips, but he truly did work until the end. He will be remembered as kind, wise, diligent, capable, and resilient. But most of all, to his wife and children, he will be remembered as in the song,

“The Wind Beneath My Wings,”:

“It must have been cold there in my shadow

To never have sunlight on your face

You were content to let me shine, that’s your way

You always walked a step behind.

So I was the one with all the glory

While you were the one with all the strength

A beautiful face without a name for so long

A beautiful smile to hide the pain.

Did you ever know that you’re my hero

And everything I would like to be?

I can fly higher than an eagle

For you are the wind beneath my wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed

But I’ve got it all here in my heart

I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it

I would be nothing without you…”

He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Yulan (眭幼蘭); three loving children, Dominique (何欣倫), Jonathan (何杰倫), and Jessica (何纤玉); as well as five siblings, Chuen Rae Ho (何春蕤), Chuen Yee Ho (何春仪), Chuen Lu Ho (何春菉), Chuen Xun Ho (何春勳), and Chuen Huan Ho (何春寰).
