Dan Wayne Miller

Dan Wayne Miller, 79, a Lee County, FL resident for the past 8 years, formerly of Rose City, MI passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born November 16, 1935 in Oak Hill, West Virginia to George and Laveda Miller, now deceased. Dad was a Veteran of Foreign Wars. He believed in America, and what she stands for. He was a member of several associations affiliated with veterans, to which he made many contributions. He loved a good game of poker, as well as, socializing with his peers. He enjoyed traveling with his daughter Betty, and their group of carefree, fun-loving friends, where he was fondly referred to as "Pops". His philosophy in life was to "live and let live". He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, especially, his family, who looked to him for strength and support. He is survived by eight children, Glenda Bradley (Darrell) of Pt. Charlotte, FL, Danette Miller, Joseph Miller of Otisville, MI, Regina Milne (Thomas) of Bradford, MA, Betty Miller of Cape Coral, Dan Miller of South Branch, MI, Theresa Miller of North Ft. Myers, FL, and David Miller of South Dakota; brother, Grover "Buck" Miller (Judy) of Singer Island, FL; former wife, Margaret Kathleen Miller of Rose City, MI; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; seven nieces; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Miller of Tampa, FL; as well as two sons-in-law, Anthony "Dan" Piorkowski of Crump, MI and Michael LaPlante (Krystal) of Fenton, MI. Dan was preceded in death by two children, Pamela "Tami" Marie Piorkowski and Karen Ann LaPlante. No formal services are planned at this time.
