Daniel Louis Bernath passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, attended by his wife Jacqueline, in Cape Coral, Florida.
Born April 30, 1934 in Plainfield NJ to Julius Jay Bernath and Barbara Ann Moore. Dan attended local schools and met his wife, Catherine Locatell and they married and had two children. During that time Dan built two successful companies, Stillwell & Bernath @ 1950-1970 and Comfort Control with his partner Jim Ballentine, which they sold and retired from @ 1990. Dan and Catherine moved to Michigan and also began splitting their time between MI and Florida. They had many trips in their RV and taking their grandchildren on great adventures.
Following Catherine’s passing in 2001, Dan resided mostly in Florida. He met his now wife Jacqueline and they wed in December 2002. He loved golfing and having family visit. Dan and Jacqueline traveled and enjoyed socializing with their friends. Dan is especially remembered for his great stories of the past, was always a good listener and loved a good joke and had a love for antiques.
Survived by his wife, Jacqueline Downey-Bernath; daughter, Robbin Hart, son-in-law Andy Hart; daughter-in-law, Sheila Bernath; sister, Barbara Verhage; grandchildren, Dan and his wife, Jacquelyn, Brianna and her husband, Ron, Tyler and his wife, Megan, Alyssa, Robert and his wife, Nicolette; as well as great-grandchildren, Thomas, Ryan, Sophia, Jacob, Andrew and Johnny.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife Catherine; son, Robert; as well as brothers, Derwent and David.
In accordance with the wishes of the family there will be no services.
