Daniel Joseph Maglione

Daniel Joseph Maglione, 80, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2005, formerly of Piscataway, NJ, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022 in Cape Coral. He was born November 12, 1942 in Newark, NJ to Daniel Harry Maglione and Pauline Calabro Maglione, now deceased.

Daniel was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church in Cape Coral. He will be remembered by thousands of former students and athletes for his distinguished career at Piscataway High School in Piscataway, NJ. A beloved drivers-education teacher and a coach of both Softball and Football, Daniel won numerous championships, was awarded Hall-Of-Fame Honors from the New Jersey Football Coaches Association, the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference, and was honored as Coach of the Year from the Greater Middlesex Conference and Red Division. Most importantly, he was a loving and supportive husband, a cherished brother, a dedicated and involved father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be remembered for his sense of humor, his smile, his laugh, and his warm and gracious personality. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Kathryn Denise Pazienza Maglione of Cape Coral; two loving children, Lisa Maglione Chenault (Brand Chenault) and Anthony Maglione (Dorothy); daughter in law, Kathleen Murphy Maglione; brothers, Robert Maglione (Sharleen) and Bruce Maglione; nieces and nephew, Jeannie Maglione, Jennifer Plumley (Richard), and Jason Leighty (Michelle), Melissa Schneider (Marty), Denise Vogel (Roger), and Sheila Langan (Sean); grandchildren, Jack Maglione (Hollynn Bruce-Maglione), Angela Maglione (Brandon Wilkinson), Mariesa Maglione, Tallia Maglione, Hunter Chenault, Mark Burges-Bartlett, and Ava Bartlett; as well as great grandchildren, Azlynn Gomes and Soraya Kay Maglione.

Daniel was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Lewis Maglione.

Committal Services will be held 12:30 PM Friday, December 16, 2022 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907 with Pastor Juan Key officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM at Sicily Trattoria, 1211 Cape Coral Pkwy. E., Cape Coral, FL 33904.
