Daniel Lee Penwell, 82, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past 20 years, formerly of Tulsa, OK, passed away Sunday, November 24,2024 in Cape Coral. He was born December 22, 1941 in Miamisburg, OH to Richard and Louise Penwell, now deceased.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, David Penwell of Manistique, MI and Mike Penwell of Batavia, OH. Daniel is survived by his nieces & nephews and a wide circle of friends whose lives he touched in ways words cannot fully express. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, kindness, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Daniel, affectionately known to many as “Snake,” was a man of faith and boundless energy. He was a devoted friend known for his generosity, kindness, and unwavering commitment to those around him. His infectious spirit made him the life of any gathering, and he had a remarkable ability to lift up others. Daniel was always ready with a helping hand, a kind word, or a hearty laugh to brighten someone’s day.
Daniel’s greatest passion was his involvement in the South Fort Myers Football program. As “Coach Snake,” his dedication to the players, coaches, and the entire football family was unparalleled, and he cherished every moment spent on and off the field. His legacy in the program will endure, as will the positive influence he had on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Daniel’s energy, laughter, and love will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
