Darrell Stacy Ramsden, 86, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021. He was born in Everett, Massachusetts to Fred and Daisy Ramsden. He was the husband of Carolyn Ramsden since 1988.
Darrell served 22 years in the US Navy, for which he shared a lifelong love. He spent 17 years on submarines and 5 years as a Naval Recruiter. He also served in Korea and Vietnam and received numerous metals. He was a member of United States Submarine Veterans Inc. (USSVI) and formed Barb Base in Cape Coral in 1996. He was a member of Moose Lodge 2199 for 31 years. He held an office for 16 years, 3 of which as Governor. He was also known for his chocolate cakes, which he baked for the WOTM bake sales for many years. He was also on the Honor Guard for Hope Hospice.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Paul S. Ramsden, and Jeff Ramsden, both of PA; daughter, Gail Radford (Willie) of Fort Myers, FL; stepchildren, Lisa Davis (Bob) of NC, and Jeffrey Solomon (Shaun) of NC; grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, Matthew, Nathan, and Jenna; great grandsons, Aiden, Jaxson, and Jayden; as well as step grandchildren, Josh, Will, Rachel, and Jaclyn.
Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Moose Lodge 2199, 155 Santa Barbara Blvd North, Cape Coral, FL 33993. Internment with Military Honors will take place 11:25 AM on January 11, 2022 at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
