David Allen Kearby

October 6, 1955 - August 19, 2019

David Allen Kearby, 63, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past nine years, formerly of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 in Cape Coral. He was born October 6, 1955 in Columbia City, IN.

David was a devoted husband, father, and a wonderful, loving grandfather. He dedicated 27 years of his life as a police officer. During this time, he served in the patrol division, was a Technical Accident Investigator, and a deputy coroner. David spent many hours catching intoxicated drivers and took much pride in keeping his streets safe. David attended Church of the Nazarene in Fort Myers, FL. He was well versed in Biblical History and was a faithful servant to Christ. Riding Harley’s, researching American History, and playing the role as a handyman were his favorite pastime activities. He was also an avid supporter of the Indiana Hoosiers and Boston Redsox. David will forever be remembered as a humorous, fun loving, husband, father, grandfather, and co-worker.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Deborah Kearby of Cape Coral; loving mother, Mary Kearby of Fort Myers; seven loving children, Joshua Kearby (Brenda) of IN, Joseph Kearby (Elizabeth) of IN, Andrew Kearby (Amanda) of AL, First Class Petty Officer U.S. Navy Blake Werner of Washington State, Casey Werner (Allexus) of MI, Sgt U.S Army Travis Werner (Babiann) of GA, and Morgan Lugtigheid (Randall, Jr.) of MI; two brothers, Randy Kearby of IN, and Timothy Kearby (Sue) of NC; nine grandchildren, Brittany, Anikah, Aubrey, Analee, Ava, Addison, Oaklynn, Joshua, and Keaton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his father, William Kenneth Kearby.

Memorial Services will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Mullins Memorial, 1056 NE 7TH Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33909 with Pastor Joey Brummett officiating.

At this time, there are no formal services planned in Indiana.
