David Duane Sanders

David Duane Sanders, 66, a resident of Alva, FL, formerly of Madeira Beach, FL, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025, in Lehigh Acres, FL. He was born August 1, 1959, in St. Petersburg, FL to David (now deceased) and Sharon Sanders.

David believed in Jesus Christ but had practiced it so much in his youth he didn’t feel the need to go to church.

He was a friend to everyone and entertainment! He started his own business, with the help of family, in 1988 where he knocked on doors to begin his business. He was the owner/operator of Lehigh Septic Inc. until he retired and passed it on to his son, Simon. David will always be remembered for many things and” Peckerhead” was one of them. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Connie Sanders of Alva, FL; mother, Sharon Cissney of Dade City, FL; four children, Simon Moritz (Tanya Tanner) of Alva, FL, Kristin Sanders of Alva, FL, Shawn Sanders of Alva, FL, and Travis Sanders of Alva, FL; sister, Sheryl Colie (Richard) of North Fort Myers, FL; brother, Gene Gibson (Chantel) of Utah, as well as eight grandchildren, Bryson, Noel, Christopher, Victoria, Gabriella, Izabella, Jayden and Gracie.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 5-7 PM with a funeral service at 6:45 PM at Mullins Memorial Funeral Home, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd, Ft. Myers, FL 33916.

We will then proceed to 22081 Tuckahoe Rd -Alva for celebration of life. This is where we’ll have some finger foods and share our stories (which there are so many and we will enjoy hearing them all)
