Dena Ingebretsen Wentz

August 21, 1963 — August 28, 2025

North Fort Myers, Florida

Well, I guess that if you are reading this Scotty has beamed me to the other side. I was born on August 21st, 1963 to Ronney D. and S. Diane Ingebretsen in Salt Lake City, Utah and died August 28th, in N. Fort Myers, Florida after a long, hard fought battle with metastatic adenocarcinoma of the lung and I’ve never smoked. I grew up in Bountiful and Woods Cross, Utah. I worked for Skaggs Alpha-Beta for 4 years and then worked as an MA for Dr. Joseph D. Jensen MD in Bountiful, Utah for almost 33 years. Our patients were like family to me and I enjoyed trying to make a difference in their lives. I enjoyed country music, hot air ballooning, animals, camping, Jeep riding, boating, fishing @ Flaming Gorge, riding my Big Dog and Harley Davidson motorcycles in the beautiful Wasatch mountains with John and Lace. I especially enjoyed going to Sturgis, South Dakota ( Motorcycle MECCA) every year, where we met many friends over the years from all over the place. I’ve tried too always treat people like I wanted to be treated, always with love and respect. But, make no mistake if you messed with a loved one of mine, or hurt an animal or a little kid, I wouldn’t hesitate to let you know that wasn’t acceptable. I am survived by my daughters Lacey N. Wentz, Kariann Wentz (Dave Halliwell), granddaughter Alyssa Daniels (Javon), Sister-in-law Paula Cantu (Gilbert), Niece Cassandra Cantu, Nephew Colby Cantu (Maya) and my precious boy (the cat) little Oakley. BFF’S Judy Wallace (Bry), Robyn Stockley (Don) Mary Johnson Ambrosio (Tommy), Lachelle Gilstrap (Jan), Lynn Bataille (Dion), Vickie Brown (Jim), Victoria Brown (Tyler), Kim Hitchcock (Tony), Brenda Radford (Mike). I cannot thank all of you enough for everything that you have done for me!!! There isn’t enough room in this obituary to explain what each and every one of you have done for me, just know that each and every one of you holds a special place in my heart! Let’s not forget about all of the laughter, because not everyone “got” my humor, but I believe that most people on the list above did and most of us laughed until we almost peed our pants. I was proceeded in death by my husband John L. Wentz of 35 years, father, younger brother Daron P. Ingebretsen, mother, mother and father-in-law Betty and L. Andy Wentz, maternal and paternal grandparents, Maggie, Snickers and Marley and Aunt Paulette Ingebretsen. I’ve had a good life with many adventures and made some incredible friendships along the way. My heart is full with love and gratitude for everyone that's been on this ride with me. Love big or go home and remember to Woosaww, life is too short and remember that it’s the little things that matter, especially when you're laughing and enjoying life with loved ones. And now I’m glad I didn’t know, the way it all would end, the way it all would go, Our lives are better left to chance, I could have missed the pain, but I’d have to miss the Dance!
