Dennis Gerard Heard, 71, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past four years, formerly of the U.S. Virgin Islands, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 in Cape Coral. He was born October 31, 1952 in Brookline, MA to Herbert and Celestina Heard, now deceased.
He was proud to be a retired I.B.E.W. Local 103 Union Electrician and referred to them as brothers. He was an accomplished sailor that lived his dream for many years sailing the Caribbean in his lovingly-restored Ketch “Renaissance”. My thoughts below are a farewell and tribute of respect and love for him.
Dennis gave me life. It was love at first sight. I never doubted his loyalty and trust. It was as if we were two souls in one mind. He made me laugh. His physical and emotional love will forever leave me wanting a do-over because once was not enough. We had a full life of adventure living many places. We saw the beauty of the ocean sailing, diving, sunsets, and sunrises. I will forever be grateful. My heart is broken. My hero is gone, my memories are my treasure. I will always love you Dennis, my sweet babe. – Carole Heard
