Donald Peter Kirisits

August 19, 1967 — November 3, 2024

Donald Peter Kirisits, age 57, had been a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2018, formerly of Viera FL, Manhattan NY, Rochester NY, and Huntington, NY, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born August 19, 1967 in Buffalo, NY. Donald was of the Catholic faith.

Don was the life of the party, and everyone fortunate enough to have spent any time with him would tell you he could light up a room with his infectious laughter and quirky antics. He loved to dance and go to concerts. He enjoyed every music genre from old school rap, to new wave, to golden oldies, rock/metal, disco, and anything in between he could dance to when the beat took hold of him. Don loved to go on the 80’s cruises just to see all the old bands, and would stand in line for hours just to get to the front row. Don loved sports, especially football, baseball, hockey and basketball. He was on all the teams in high school and followed his favorite teams through their successes and failures, especially as a die-hard fan of the Buffalo Bills. His other favorite teams were the Mets, the Sabres, the Everblades, the Hurricanes, and St Johns basketball. He was quick witted, and could tell a story as if you were there to live it in person. Don has always helped anyone in need; no task too big or small. Don was an animal lover and had many pets over the years, such as dogs, cats, pigs, rabbits, ferrets, and even including a few exotics such as a chocolate skunk and his beloved cockatoo, Marley. He loved his job, and was the perfect personality fit for it. As a retail sales manager, he was upbeat and positive, and had the ability to lead others, teach meaningful skills, and talk to customers and associates in such a way that his trust was instantly gained. Don was a loyal and compassionate family man who loved each and every member beyond words. His attention to detail in helping to plan every family event and holiday never went unnoticed. He loved to cook, to sing and to make others beam with happiness through his comedic banter. Don was the light in our lives that shone brighter than any other imaginable, and Don thankfully seized every opportunity to live his life “for today” knowing that tomorrow was not promised.

Don is survived by his adoring and devoted wife, Jennifer Kirisits of Cape Coral, FL; his loving mother, Cynthia Greco and father Anthony Greco of Grant, FL; father, Donald Kirisits of Buffalo, NY; children, Zachary Kirisits of Rochester, NY, Jessica Kirisits (Zach) of Palm Bay, FL, and Emily Kirisits (Cooper) of Nashville, TN; as well as brothers, Anthony Greco (Courtney), Max Greco (Brook), Justin Kirisits, Alex Kirisits, and Roberts Kirisits; and sister in law Kim Goldbeck (Travis). Don also leaves behind his fur-babies, Ziggy, Sammy, Roxie, and Taylor as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends of the family, and a lifetime of meaningful friendships, far too many to mention. Don was predeceased by his in-laws, Darryl and Betty Goldbeck, whom he selflessly helped to care for in their final days.
