Doris Jane Taber, 88, a Cape Coral resident for the past seven years, formerly of Machesney Park, IL, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in her home in Cape Coral, FL. She was born February 20, 1927 in Rockford, IL to Joseph Trombleyand Lona Trombley, now deceased. Doris was a memberof the Harlem UnitedMethodist Church. She was a lovingWife, Mother, Grandmother, andGreat Grandmother. She enjoyed family gatherings on the river, cooking,sewing, the music ofThe Three Tenors, and Ted playing his guitar for her.In her retirement she enjoyed living with her Daughter Trisha and Son-in-Law Ted in Cape Coral. Where she got to relax and go boating, fishing, and bird watchingon Sanibel Island. She especially enjoyed the company of her treasured dog Twinkie who was herloving faithful companion. She passed peacefully with Trisha, Ted, Tashana, Twinkie, and Leo by her side. She is survived by five loving children, Evelyn Stine (Bob) of Loves Park, IL, Eva Nelson (Steve) of Loves Park, IL, Harold Taber, II of Machesney Park, IL, Robert Taber (Prudy) of Shirland, IL, and Trisha Miller (Ted) of Cape Coral, FL; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren;and Twinkieher dog. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Taber, Sr., her children, Doris Ann Taber, Sharon Roberts, Edward Taber; as well as her siblings Ella Mae Taber, Herby Lee Trombley andAlmon Trombley; Granddaughter Tammy Martin, and Great Granddaughter Curra Tufly No formal services are planned in Florida Memorial Service in Machesney Park, IL to be announcedviawww.MullinsMemorial.com.
