Dorothy Louise Chapman

With heavy hearts but joyful memories, we celebrate Dorothy Louise Chapman, 90, a resident of Nort Fort Myers, FL for 37 years, formerly of Naperville, Illinois, who passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023, in Fort Myers, FL. She was born September 16, 1932, in Danville, IL, to Lawrence and Clista Wallace, now deceased. 

Dorothy was a member of the Church of Nazarene in North Fort Myers. "Dorothy embraced and excelled in her role as a mother of five, marriage as a loving and devoted wife for 71 years, and nurturing relationships with family and friends. Her house was truly a home that shaped the lives of her children, always providing a sense of security and well-being. Her quick wit and colorful nature will be missed by all who knew her."

She is survived by four loving children, Clifford Chapman (Debra) of Bolingbrook, IL, Douglas Chapman (Vivian) of Little Elm, TX, Sandra Chapman, of Nort Fort Myers, and Cynthia Walch of North Fort Myers; one sister, Darlene Roach of North Fort Myers; one brother, Daniel Wallace (Joyce) of Kentucky; numerous nieces and nephews; one grandchild, Rachel Swanson (Ian) of IL; as well as one great grandchild, Fiona.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Laurel Raymond Chapman, Jr. on January 13, 2023; son, Mark Chapman; as well as son in law, Steve Walch. 

Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 PM on September 23, 2023 at the North Fort Myers Church of the Nazarene, 6781 Bayshore Rd, North Fort Myers, FL 33917, with Pastor Van Garner officiating.

Memorial contributions/flowers in memory of Dorothy Louise Chapman can also be delivered to the church.
