Earl Howard Leyda

Earl H. Leyda of Cape Coral FL and Middle Bass Island OH, died March 31, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Debra Leyda, and is survived by his wife, June and children Karen, Craig and Laura Leyda. Earl was a retired veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He was the first of two men to receive the Coast Guard medal for heroic actions on March 18, 1958. He will be sorely missed by family and friends. No formal services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Sunshine Creative Communities of Maumee, OH. Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.
