Edward Raymond Ludan, Jr., 83, a resident of North Fort Myers, FL for the past 10 years, formerly of Tampa and Holiday, FL, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born December 7, 1940 in Chicago, IL to Edward and Alice Ludan, now deceased.
Edward was of the Roman Catholic faith. He served in the Air Force for three years as an Airman Second Class and was stationed at Moron Air Base, Spain. He served as a Security Force Police Officer until July 1963. This set the foundation for his love and passion of traveling the world which would last the rest of his life.
Edward moved back to Chicago after separating from the Air Force and married his first wife, Ingela in February 1965. They lived in Chicago, IL for a few years then moved to Stockholm, Sweden. Edward lived in Sweden for ten years and worked for Ericsson Electronics. Though this relationship wasn’t permanent, they had three children together and remained in touch throughout their lives.
Edward then moved to Florida in 1981 and later married, Diane Ludan. During this time, he began a career as a tractor trailer truck driver. Working for more than 37 years as a long haul truckdriver, he would drive from East to West coast in all types of weather, day night, with unwavering dedication to his employer.
Edward Ludan will be fondly remembered by all who met him for being kind, pleasant and easy to get along with, and also for his unwavering ability to tell stories.
He is survived by former spouse, Ingela Heurgren of Sweden; three children, John Ludan of Sweden, Eric Ludan (Naomi) of Rockport, TX and Christine Ludan (Ronnie Ketola) of Sweden; as well as six grandchildren.
Edward was preceded in death by his second wife, Diane Ludan and his two sisters, Gerri Giampaolo and Lorraine Ludan
