Elaine Boudreault, 81, wife of Francis Boudreault passed away Wednesday, July 13th, 2022. She was born in 1941 in Massachusetts to Fred and Ethel Piazzi and was a resident of Fort Myers for the past 27 years. She graduated with a master’s degree in social work from Boston College, and at 27 became an entrepreneur. She will be greatly missed by her husband, three children, and six grandchildren, and the rest of her extended family.
Elaine was a loving and caring wife, mom, and grandmother. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports, run, perform in plays and ballets, and play music. She especially loved hearing about their day. As a young mother, Mom always put the family first, expending so much energy chasing her three energetic children and pets around two acres of property. She earned a reputation as a fantastic Italian chef, famous for her amazing lasagna sought after by her family, friends, and especially her children’s friends. She was accomplished at fishing and waterskiing with her family in her younger years.
Mom had a huge heart and loved helping people. Her gift was her ability to talk to people from all walks of life, making friends instantly with her empathy, earning her the nickname “softy” for treating everyone like her children with her caring soul. Mom balanced her big heart with some tenacity and a strong will, known for speaking her mind. We all knew who the boss was!
Mom talked to her family every day and was well known for leaving long voicemails on all our phones as if she was carrying on an ongoing conversation. She retired to Florida with Francis and realized another personal goal of theirs, living on the water. In her retirement, she made up for the distance between her children and grandchildren in other ways to remain a big part of their lives. We always knew to set aside a lot of time when she called as she never wanted to hang up. She was the glue of our family, ensuring we were all up to date on each other with her gift of gab. She adorned the home with pictures of family and personalized gifts and portraits to display how proud she was of her family.
Elaine leaves behind her husband, Francis; her children, Jody, Dana, and Jim; as well as her six grandchildren.
