Ernesto Santana Negron

Ernesto Santana Negron, 84, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2008, formerly of Ocean County NJ, passed away February 11, 2023, in Cape Coral. He was born April 10, 1938, in Naranjito, Puerto Rico to Gerardo Santana and Concepcion Negron, now deceased.

After graduating high school, he went on to serve in the US Army from 1957 through 1959 before he was honorably released. After marrying his love Maria in 1959, he made residence in Lakewood, NJ where he worked at Excel Wood for over 40 years as a production manager before retiring to Florida.

Ernesto was of strong Christian faith and a member of Casa de Jubileo Church in Cape Coral.

He is survived by his loving wife since 1959, Maria Otero of Cape Coral and their beloved dog Rocky; five children, Ernesto Santana, Jr. of Puerto Rico, Nancy Brennan (John) of Toms River, NJ, Evelyn Diaz (Enrique) of Brick, NJ, Marilyn Crescitelli of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, and Jaime Santana (Gabriela) of Cape Coral; two sisters, Sylvia Santana of Spring Hill, FL, and Ida Santana (Jorge Luis Ortega) of  Puerto Rico; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christa, Erica, Amanda, Britney, Samantha, Michael, Nicolette, and Michaela; as well as great grandchildren, Avalyn, Cameron, Ronan, Cian, Maverick, Trey, and Haven.

Ernesto, our 'Welo', will be immensely missed along with his sense of humor and catchphrases. He loved to cheer on his favorite baseball team "Lets go Mets!" and he always ended his messages to us with "Arriba, Arriba!". He loved his family unconditionally and made sure they knew it. God has you in Heaven and you will always be in our hearts.

A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 PM Friday, February 24, 2023, at Casa De Jubileo, 922 NE 8th Street, Cape Coral, FL 33909.

A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Coral Ridge Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd S, Cape Coral, FL 33991.
