Eugene "Gene" LeRoy Gedye, age 78, of Naples, FL formerly of Sycamore IL and Ottawa IL, passed away suddenly on Monday May 25, 2015 in Ft Myers FL.
Gene was born January 12, 1937 in Ottawa, IL to LeRoy and Alice (Gould) Gedye. He worked 24 years for Barber Greene. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. He was a member of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Auxiliary for many years. He was also huge baseball fan, and loved working outdoors.
Gene is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda of Naples FL; two sons, Ronald Gedye of Waterman IL, James (Michelle) Gedye of DeKalb IL, daughter Susan (Jason) Hickey of Naples, FL, step-son Jerry (Robyn) of Tallahassee, FL, step-daughter Amy McIntyre of Naples FL, and 10 grandchildren.
Gene was preceded in death by his first wife Karen, his father, LeRoy, his mother, Alice Miskell, his brother Richard, and step-father, James Miskell.
A private memorial will be held for the family.
