Frederic Griffin Heath

Frederic Griffin Heath, 78, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since 2000, formerly of Detroit, MI, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024 in Punta Gorda, FL. He was born November 21, 1945 in Detroit, MI to Glen and Helen Heath, now deceased.

Frederic Heath was of Methodist faith, a retired ordained Minister of the United Methodist Church, and a devoted servant of God throughout his life.

Frederic (Fred) dedicated over 20 years to ministry, sharing a message of love, hope, and redemption with the congregations he served. His sermons were known for their heartfelt wisdom, humility, and profound connection to scripture. His commitment to living a Christ-centered life touched many, inspiring those around him to deepen their faith.

Fred pursued his calling later in life, after being a successful business and real estate entrepreneur in Metro Detroit and Florida. His Mentor, Pastor Milano, of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church guided him and his family on the journey to the clergy, leading Fred to attend and Graduate from the Methodist Theological School, in Delaware, OH with a master’s degree in divinity.

Fred displayed an unwavering faithfulness that will be remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Sherie Heath of Fort Myers; and his three loving children, Bradley Heath (Ashley) of Cape Coral, FL. Abbe Chandler (Jamere), also of Cape Coral, and Julie Colon of Tampa, FL; sister Glenda Shell (Grant Cinder) of Rochester Hills, MI; as well as five grandchildren, Chase Heath, Myles Chandler, Memphis Chandler, Jeremiah Colon, and Jonah Colon.

Frederic was preceded in death by his daughter, Hilary Walters; as well as his sister, Anita Joanne Carman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Cypress Lake United Methodist Church (Inside of the small chapel on the church grounds), 8570 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
