Gary Lee Olson

Gary Lee Olson, 65, Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Grand Forks, ND passed away Friday, March 11^th 2016 at his home. Gary was born on March 30^th, 1950 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Jorgen "Alex" and Agnes (Johnson) Olson. Gary, one of the most respected and prolific auto body technicians ever, delighted in telling stories from his early years in the dirt track racing days. His passion was cars. He invested his entire life working on them and could tell you what was wrong with someone else's work. Gary was great like that. When he heard a classic rock song he could tell you the year it came out and what car he owned at that time. Every story involved a car and what he was doing at that time when he owned it. Gary's other interests included fishing, bowling and watching the Vikings play football. If you had a chance to know Gary, then you knew he had a dirty, minded sense of humor. You never knew what he was going to say next and could embarrass his daughters and wife at any time. He had this sense of humor until the day he died. Gary married Judy Nybo on December 18^th, 1971. She survives along with their four children, Shawn Olson of Fargo, ND, Lindsey (Tony) Halsa of Tonganoxie, KS, Melissa (Wayne) Westling of Cape Coral, FL, and Krista Olson of Fargo, ND; one brother Gaylen (Linda) Olson of Grand Forks, ND; and ten grandchildren, Isaac, Austin, Teonnie, Simon, Kayleen, Braden, Farrah, Gemma, Wyatt, and Kristofer. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings Faye Eby, Margie Schlett, Harold and Harris Olson. Services to celebrate Gary's life will be held at a later date in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral is entrusted with final care.
