Gary Raffa, Sr., 62, a Cape Coral resident for the past year and a half, formerly of Monroe Township, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015 in Cape Coral. He was born on February 14, 1953 in Cliffwood, NJ to Vincent and Mary Raffa, now deceased.

Gary was a member of The American Legion Riders as well as a Commander at The Sons of The American Legion. He was a one-of-a-kind individual, well read and knowledgeable. A utilitarian, intuitive, and an intelligent human being. A new age Jeffersonian American the likes of which there is a dearth of in this day. A passionate fun loving conversationalist that filled a room with contagious joviality. A father of endless and unconditional love. A well-traveled person, always craving another trip on the bike. A baseball enthusiast in every possible aspect of the sport. A man to whose plethoric accomplishments are unquantifiable and nearly endless. His personality was infectious and caused people to gravitate toward him. He will surely be remembered having a smile on his face, seldom did he bear any other expression. Gary Raffa was impossible to be forgotten in life, and will certainly always be remembered in death.

He is survived by three loving children, David Raffa of Rochester, NY, Gary Raffa, Jr. of Freehold, NJ, and Nick Raffa, of Freehold, NJ; two brothers, Jimmy Raffa of Cape Coral, and Gerard Raffa of Cliffwood, NJ; as well as a great niece, Olivia Murphy, of Homdel, NJ.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.

A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Englishtown American Legion, 11 Sanford Ave., Manalapan, NJ 07726.
