Gayle Annmarie Russo

Gayle Annmarie Russo, 70, a resident of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Erie, PA passed
away Monday June 30, 2025, at her home in Cape Coral. She was born September 14,
1954, in Erie, PA, to James and Janet Sawtelle, now deceased.

Gayle was a 1972 graduate of McDowell High School in Erie, PA. She spent her
working career as an Executive Assistant/Secretary showcasing her desire to help
others. She moved to Cape Coral with her husband in 1998 to help take care of her
mom and dad. She was an avid reader and enjoyed films and shows centered around
the Old West and World War II. A kind, caring, and compassionate person, she would
be one of the first to offer assistance to anyone in need. A woman of deep Catholic
faith, she attended Mass at St. Andrew Church almost daily. Always having a smile and
joyful demeanor, she was loved by all and was the life of the party.

She is survived by her loving husband Michael P. Russo, stepchildren Michael A.Russo
of Erie, PA and Brittany Gaspari (Andrew) of Exton, PA, sister Susan Bailey of Palm
Bay, FL, brothers JR Sawtelle of Cape Coral, FL, Gary Sawtelle (Celeste) Safety
Harbour, FL, and Glenn Sawtelle of Naples, FL as well as four grandchildren Connor,
Lisa, Drew and Peyton.

Gayle is predeceased by her son, Gary Thompson, Jr.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd. S. in Cape Coral, on August 8 th , 2025 at 10:30am. Following the funeral services, The Rite of Committal Ceremony will be performed at Coral Ridge Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd S, Cape Coral.
