Gemma Altagracia Efres

Gemma Altagracia Efres, 94, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2013, formerly of Derwood, MD, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019 in Cape Coral. She was born January 7, 1925 in La Vega, Dominican Republic to Pablo and Christina de la Mota, now deceased.

Gemma was of the Catholic faith and she attended St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church in Cape Coral. She was an avid reader and loved listening to music. Her books and CDs were her treasure, however, the most important thing in her life was her family. She was loved by all who knew her because she was all love, sweetness, and generosity. She was loving, kind-hearted, thoughtful and had a way of making people feel loved and special. She always had a sweet smile and kind words for everyone around her. She was the perfect role model for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; she was the pillar of our family.

She is survived by four loving children, Lourdes Benitez (Luis) of Cape Coral, Pablo Efres (Donna) of Queens, NY, Mayra Likos (John) of Derwood, MD, and Christina Efres (Manuel) of Canary Islands; seven grandchildren, Luis, Mark, Omar, Michael, Paul, Gabriel, and Danielle; as well as seven great grandchildren, Samantha, Faith, Olivia, Joel, Eloy, Khloe, and Grayson.

Gemma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pablo Victor Efres in 1996.
