George “Doby” Clint Dishman

September 22, 1937 - February 7, 2016

George Clint “Doby” Dishman, 78, a Ft. Myers, Florida winter resident for the past eight years, and a resident of Dandridge, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 in Ft. Myers. He was born September 22, 1937 in Watauga County, North Carolina to Dave and Annie Dishman, now deceased.

After graduating from Bethel High School in 1956, Doby joined the Marine Corps and spent his military service in Puerto Rico. He was a proud Marine.

Doby retired in 2007 after 47 years as Shop Supervisor at Sonoco Products Company in Newport, TN. He was devoted to his work and set high standards for himself and his employees.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Shelby Dishman of Dandridge, TN and Ft. Myers, FL; mother in law, Mattie Rominger of Sugar Grove, NC; sister, Glenda Dancy of Statesville, NC; brother, Bruce Dishman and wife, Betty, of Sugar Grove, NC; brother in law, Frank Guy, of Sugar Grove, NC; as well as several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Doby loved water sports and spent many summers on Douglas Lake, enjoying boating and water skiing with his nieces and nephews.
