George Robert Newton, 73, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past seven years, formerly of East Brunswick, NJ, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born March 30, 1950 in East Orange, NJ to Richard and Ruth Newton, now deceased.

George was of the Lutheran faith and was a Veteran in the Vietnam era of the United States Navy. He was a graduate of Union High School and Kean University. George worked as a warehouse manager for most of his career, retiring from Costo where he made many friends. He was a loyal NY Mets and NY Giants fan. George also loved the beach since moving to Florida, especially Sanibel Island.

He is survived by his loving partner, Florence Mundy; his children, Michelle Kasperski of Edison, NJ, Laura Arndt (Chad) of High Point, NC, Amanda Demund of Acworth, GA, Daniel Newton of Milltown, NJ, and Thomas Newton of Milltown, NJ; brother, Jeffrey Newton (Kim) of Hackettstown, NJ; niece, Samantha; nephew, Tyler; grandchildren, Gavin, Aliyah, Alexa, Abigail, and Grayson; Florence Mundy’s children, Barbara Mundy of Cape Coral, FL, Albert Piccinini of Cape Coral, FL, and Emma Mundy of Cape Coral, FL; Florence’s grandchildren, Summer, and Charlotte; as well as his loyal dog companion, Cinnamon.

Memorial Services to be held from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Deutscher Club of Clark, 787 Featherbed Lane, Clark, NJ 07066.
