Gerald Lynn Daniels, 65, a long time Lee county resident, passed away on December 11, 2014 in Cape Coral. He was born on August 26, 1949 in Fort Myers to Charles and Virginia Daniels.

Gerald was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a commercial painter and mason for many years, but his real passion was that of a commercial fisherman on a shrimp boat. He was a "Daniels Man", a fisherman to death in heart and soul. Gerald also served our country as a Sargent in The United States Army. He was assigned to Panama for his first year, then after he became of age to be in the line of fire, he was deployed to Vietnam. His enlistment was from 1965, until his honorable discharge in 1975. Gerald enjoyed laughing, making werewolf sounds, telling scary stories and playing pranks on anyone who he thought he could, that would not retaliate. He was a tough guy with a very hard exterior, but once you got pass all the drama with him, you couldn't help but love the soft, lovable person that he really was. Gerald will be remembered as a loving husband, father and brother.

He is survived by his loving wife, Caridad Daniels of Cape Coral; two children, Gerald Daniels, Jr and Edmond Daniels; sister, Lisa Romano of Cape Coral; as well as a niece, Virginia Haskell.
