Graydon (Grady) Trail Olson

Graydon (Grady) Trail Olson, 72, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past two years, formerly of Elysian, MN, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024 in Cape Coral. He was born December 5, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN to Charles Elmer and Dolores Ivah Olson, now deceased.

Graydon proudly served in the United States Army from 1970 – 1983 attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. As part of his service he was stationed in Uijeongbu, South Korea and Colorado Springs, CO and was then transferred to Schwabach, Germany for three years after which he was honorably discharged. He received an Electronics Degree from NEI College of Technology in 1986 and spent most of his career in industrial electronics. His favorite of many hobbies included camping and fishing in the summer and skijoring with his huskies and creating inventions in the winter.

He is survived by his loving children, Shane Olson of Owatonna, MN, and Carista Harvey (Chris) of Cape Coral, FL; siblings, Glory Kibbel (Keith) of Forest Lake, MN and Sherwood Olson (OnaLee) of MD and MN; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Michaela, and Lilah; as well as Tova his sweet and faithful dog.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450 with military honors presented. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:30 PM at Bloomington Event Center, 1114 American Blvd W, Bloomington, MN 55420.
