In Loving Memory of Gwen Delores Gorton

Our precious Angel, Gwen Delores Gorton, went home to be with Jesus on June 27th, 2025, after fourteen beautiful months with her family. While her time here on earth was brief, Gwen’s impact was profound, and she left an everlasting imprint on our hearts. From the moment of conception, Gwen was deeply loved, prayed over, and cherished as a beautiful gift from God. Her contagious smile and sweet spirit brought Heaven’s light into this world. While Gwen may have been born with medical imperfections due to her Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type 2, she was perfect and beautiful to all who knew her. In Gwen’s short life, she brought us closer together, taught us to be present in the moment, and reminded us of the preciousness of every breath and heartbeat. Most importantly, Gwen drew us nearer to God and taught us to rely wholeheartedly on our faith and trust God’s plan and timing, even in the midst of the unknown.
She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones, hearing the giggles of her siblings and cousins, and being cared for by her nurses, who had become like family. Though we all grieve deeply, we take comfort in knowing that Gwen is healed and whole, and in the arms of Jesus. God’s promise of reunion and the reality of Heaven’s joys brings peace to her family and loved ones. Gwen is survived by her dedicated parents (Mike and Christy Gorton), her adoring older siblings (Luke and Clare Gorton), and her loving grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will also be deeply missed by her nurses, who loved her as if she were their own.

A celebration of Gwen’s life will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 4:00 pm at Crosspoint Church, in the auditorium, 204 SW 11th Place, Cape Coral, FL 33991. We invite all who knew and loved Gwen to join us in remembering the precious life God entrusted to us. God’s mission for Gwen is complete. Her life here on earth was short, but it mattered and made us better. Gwen’s family is thankful for every moment they spent with her, and they will forever cherish the memories made. #TeamGwen today and forever.
