Harold “David” Bashford

February 20, 1964 — January 3, 2025

Harold “David” Bashford, 60, a resident of Cape Coral, formerly of Phoenix, AZ and Napa, CA, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025. He was born February 20, 1964 in Troy, NY.

David was of the Christian faith. Anyone who knew David knew how much he loved music, he found solace in writing and singing his own songs and playing in his band. David was adventurous and loved to travel. He found peace being in the outdoors spending his time hiking, mountain biking, and boating. He spent many of his days working and fixing up his truck, which he found pride in. He was strong willed and stubborn at times, but witty and had a great sense of humor. He lived life on his terms, spoke his mind and was unapologetically himself. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge he gained through all of his life experiences. He loved spending time with his wife and lived his life to protect her since June of 2001. Anyone who knew David knew he always made those around him feel safe and secure. He found comfort being around animals and was known to always have a pet or six. He was a big family man and enjoyed landscaping his mother’s home, spending time peering at the water from her dock and spending quality time together and reminiscing on childhood memories. He was a man of many talents but his greatest honor was being a father, his legacy will live on through his son.

He is survived his loving wife, Tammy Bashford of Cape Coral; mother, Mary Bashford also of Cape Coral; son, David McDonald of Chico, CA; two stepchildren, Danielle Allen (Delmar) of Cape Coral and Cory Callahan of Denver, CO; five sisters, Sherry Walthers (John) of Commerce City, CO, Lori Perez (Ernie) of Pamona, CA, Connie Ujder (Richard) of Granite Bay, CA, Linda Jensen of Granite Bay, CA and Diane Legaspi (Tim) of Castle Rock, CA; one brother, Steven Bashford (Karina) of Temple, TX; as well as two grandchildren, Delmar Allen, IV and Kora Allen.
